- Manchester City's two-year Uefa ban from European football has been overturned by the Court of Arbitration of Sport , the Lausanne-based court said on Monday .

The CAS ruled that the English Premier League runners-up did not breach financial fair play rules by disguising equity funding as sponsorship, but imposed a €10 million fine for failing to cooperate with the continental football governing body. "The club welcomes the implications of today's ruling as a validation of the club's position and the body of evidence that it was able to present," City, who qualified for next season's Champions League by finishing second to Liverpool in the Premier League, said in a statement.

Uefa had ruled in February that City had committed serious breaches of FFP regulations and failed to cooperate with its investigation, handing them a ban and a €30 million fine.Without Champions League football, City could miss out on at least £100 million in prize money and broadcast revenue, as well as match day and other income.
