The former care staff member at Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home at 148A Silat Avenue was confirmed to have the infection on Sunday after returning home to the Philippines, the Agency for Integrated Care said on Monday night. She was last at her workplace on 26 August when she did not display any symptoms.
The Ministry of Health and the AIC have worked with LAM Silat to test 90 staff and residents who might have been in contact with the case. The test results of all 90 of them have returned negative for COVID-19. LAM Silat will continue to monitor the health status of its staff and residents. Apart from the suspension of visits, LAM Silat has also thoroughly cleaned and disinfected the ward and affected areas of the nursing home, and will be enhancing its staff’s usage of personal protective equipment.
AIC said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and will support the nursing home to ensure continuity of care for its residents during this period.
