In a joint media release on Friday , the Housing Development Board and Urban Redevelopment Authority said that this measure begins with immediate effect at all their car parks with the Electronic Parking System.
Motorists who exit the car parks within the 20-minute grace period will not be charged parking fees. Those who park their vehicles beyond the grace period will have to pay parking fees for the full duration, including the first 20 minutes, when they exit the car parks. HDB and URA said that, with the elevated safe distancing measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, more Singapore residents have turned to online services for food, groceries and other essential goods as they stay at home.
