China is cracking down on celeb gossip and 'feudal superstitions' to keep citizens from misbehaving during ChineseNewYear and the Olympics

Live-streaming programs and content that touch on"overeating" are some of the online activities that will come under additional scrutiny from China's internet regulator during Chinese New Year this year.China's internet regulator announced it will be monitoring five types of online content during the coming festive period.

The guidelines come as Beijing cracks down on online content that it says could harm social and political stability. The internet regulator also reminded provincial authorities to strengthen enforcement so they can "foster a civilized, healthy, and festive environment for public discourse online during Chinese New Year."
