BEIJING – Chinese hotels and restaurants are seeking employees amid demand recovery in the services sector after thewith a survey by a leading recruiter showing a surge in job openings in the hospitality industry.

Openings in the tourism services industry grew 58.9 per cent on resurgent demand during the festival season, while posting for workers in the manufacturing sector also rose 42.2 per cent. China’s biggest provincial economy aims to achieve more than 5 per cent gross domestic product growth in 2023 after its economy grew only 1.9 per cent in 2022 because of frequent Covid-19 lockdowns.
