SAO PAULO : The Brazilian Football Confederation has tentatively backed a biennial World Cup, with the interim president expressing support for a venture opposed by the South American Football Confederation .

CONMEBOL said in September that a biennial World Cup was highly unviable and would put a"practically impossible burden" on football’s international calendar.
