Why are dependants here in the first place? If my spouse wants to relocate with me to another country, I would expect her to be earning her keep too, by working. No one likes a free loading skiving sponge. Well done MOM. I have heard of places where DPs have been hired instead of Singaporeans. In fact there are many countries that do not allow dependents of expatriates to work.

Long story short, you wanna work, get the appropriate pass. Y d anxiety? Just enjoy your time in here as a dependant. Go shopping, have hi-tea or cocktail parties. Unless you have other agenda? Do you? I see no logic. They are here as DP. Key word: DEPENDENT. They want to work. Get a work pass. Key word: WORK. Why make it a gender issue?

Maybe my English is not so good but I think they word dependent says it all..it is not for dependent to work but to accompany their spouse here and depend on their spouse for a living?If the dependent chooses to work,than they should apply for the appropriate work pass?My thots..
