SINGAPORE – That exciting weekend every September is almost upon us – this time last year, Lewis Hamilton cruised to victory in the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix.

As the race is only a mere few days away, rev yourself up for the deafening roaring of engines, a string of star-studded parties, stellar entertainment and world-class dining – you can’t miss all of that if you have bought your tickets.

You gotta make the most out of the weekend so here’s a round-up of the races, activities and concert acts to expect during the high-octane 3-day street race.

Stellar concert line-up

This year, they outdid themselves by bringing out the big guns – Swedish House Mafia, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gwen Stefani, Fatboy Slim and even orchestral genius Hans Zimmer.

We are hollering for pop princess Gwen Stefani as she will be headlining the F1 concert scene alongside EDM powerhouse Swedish House Mafia, Californian rock legends Red Hot Chili Peppers and rock group Muse. Award-winning DJ Fatboy Slim will be spinning his set while Hans Zimmer – the man behind the iconic soundtracks of The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator and The Dark Night trilogy – will take you through a stirring concert experience complete with a live symphony orchestra.

The artistes are performing at different days and zones. Gwen Stefani will be performing on Saturday (21 Sep) at Zone 4 while Hans Zimmer will be at Zone 1 on Sunday (22 Sep). So make sure you know where and when to go to catch your favourite stars here.

Take yourself on a gastronomic experience

Watching the race and walking the circuit grounds for hours can get you feeling peckish. Thankfully, there is no shortage of food and beverage options across all the zones to fulfil any craving that you may have, namely at:

Zone 1 – Market Street, The Wharf

Zone 3 – Uptown under the Bay Grandstand

Zone 4 – Portside Hawkers, Dockside Hawkers

If you have splurged on a Paddock Club ticket, your tastebuds will be treated to gourmet delights by celebrity chefs.

Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal will be making his highly-anticipated culinary debut with a pop-up of his one-Michelin-starred gastropub, The Hind's Head. NOBU, the world renowned Japanese restaurant helmed by award-winning Chef Nobu Matsuhisa will feature classic and contemporary cuisine. One of Australia’s most influential chefs, Neil Perry will bring farm-to-table perfectly wood-fired grilled meats and seafood sustainably sourced from the finest quality producers.

Try out the race simulators and test your racing skills

Aspiring to be Sebastian Vettel or Lewis Hamilton? Well, here’s the closest you can get to experiencing being an F1 driver - free race simulators in the Singapore Airlines Fan Village at Zone 4, Circuit Park.

Those keen on giving their racing skills a go can soothe their itch at the Circuit Park as they have a go at racing on the Singapore track under the lights in hyper-realistic conditions on race simulators.

We are quite sure it would be one exhilarating ride.
