SINGAPORE: Having two train disruptions over two consecutive days is"very unfortunate and frustrating", the Land Transport Authority said on Monday .
Affected commuters experienced a delay of about 45 minutes as trains had to be driven manually at a slower speed along the affected stretch, said LTA, adding that free bus services were provided. SMRT said earlier that there would be"a reset of the signalling system" at 10am, with no trains running between Toa Payoh and Marina South Pier stations for about 15 minutes. The authority said it is working with SMRT and Thales to look into the root cause of the incident, and will provide an update once it has details from the investigation.
The overhead catenary system provides power to trains. The affected insulator on the system has been replaced, said the authority."There is currently an ongoing programme to replace the insulators with a better designed version, and we are working with SBS Transit to accelerate replacement of the rest of the insulators by June," said LTA.The authority apologised for the inconveniences caused by the disruptions.
Easy for these top men to say! They don’t take public transport!!!!!!
How MRT is found wanting when having to deal with normalcy after end of WFH. All the hype about them fixing everything is hit with reality once normalcy comes back.
Not unfortunate......just lack the gumsome to do ur best n maintenence......frustration is not u but the people who commute daily.....wake up lta.....just when we thot the days of disruption is over.....here we go again.
LTA is absolutely incompetent and they ought to be ashamed of themselves. The Minister of Transport is drawing huge monthly salary and this is the quality of service they gave.
That should not be all! Hefty fines should follows. Excuse after excuse ... don’t they learnt?
Bopakeh...all tidoh 😭😭😭
We need to use Japanese tech, if are not already using it.
Complain Kings are back in action again
WFH is no longer the default mode. LTA shld be prepared of high volume of human traffic. All systems shld be checked, serviced & maintained in good operating order. We do not want to experience the anxiety of not being able to report for work on time & the sarcasm from our bosses
Forget 75%, Go back to wfh.
Nothing in this World is Fault-Free...there're bound to be certain issues! Even cashless payment systems for that matter.
LTA needs to be reviewing their kpis and jobs then
SMRT_Singapore should start hiring real engineers instead of sweepers.
Worse than in Suez Canal
Unfortunate?
its okay. we are slowly getting use to it.
