This Vid Of Jin Yinji's 2 Helpers, Whom She Thanked In Her Star Awards Speech, Reacting To Her Win Is Too Cute
They were so excited to see their beloved Nai Nai emerge the night's big winner.
Veteran actress Jin Yinji's very flustered and effusive speeches after winning two awards, the Evergreen Award and a Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes Award, at the recent Star Awards were pretty much the most adorable moments of the ceremony.
Yes, we found it even more heartwarming than Jesseca Liu namedropping her husband Jeremy Chan multiple times during her speech, or the camera panning to a teary Nick Teo during his girlfriend Hong Ling's equally teary acceptance speech.
And for good reason 'cos it was very apparent that the 74-year-old was genuinely touched, and so grateful to everyone who'd contributed to her wins that she was at a loss for words.
Which was also probably why we were treated to these hilarious gaffes during her second speech, where she referred to her fans as her music fans instead of television fans (hey, presenter Ella Chen did the same thing too), even thanking them for calling in to vote , even though voting's only done online now.
But the most heartwarming moment was probably when Jin-jie thanked her two precious helpers in her speech.
You see, Yinji's really, really, close to her helpers, who introduced her to the world of TikTok when she appeared on a series of viral videos posted on one of her helper's account.
In a phone interview with 8days.sg, Jin-jie shared that her helpers were voting for her every day. And that's not all.
When we checked out their TikTok account, we realised that they've been hard at work canvassing for votes for their favourite Nai Nai, which is what they call Jin jie, in the lead-up to the ceremony too.
And it looks like their effort really paid off, with almost 70,000 accumulated views on the TikTok videos they posted reminding everyone to vote for the actress. Not bad at all.
I will go out with my helpers [soon] to buy them a little memento [to thank them] for their support, Yinji added.
She also revealed that a number of artistes had texted and called to congratulate her on her win, including fellow veteran actresses, Li Yinzhu and Zhang Jinhua.
Both had sent messages thanking Yinji for “winning this honour for all veteran artistes”.
