Has it really been two years since Andy Hui and Jacqueline Wong became the most notorious cheating couple in Asian showbiz after getting caught canoodling with each other despite being attached (or married, in Andy’s case) to other famous people, namely Hongkong singer-actress Sammi Cheng and Hongkong actor Kenneth Ma respectively?

Well, in the many, many, days since then, all four parties have moved on in their own way. Andy apologised in a teary press conference and Sammi publicly forgave Andy. Jacqueline fled overseas to find peace (or maybe a new job?). Kenneth and Jacqueline also broke up, with the latter now happily ensconced in a lovey-dovey relationship with colleague Roxanne Tong.

While Jacqueline’s showbiz prospects look dim after it was reported that TVB was considering terminating her contract, Andy’s future seem brighter.

1 of 2 Back in business

The 53-year-old first tested the waters by appearing on a music show last June, where he shared with the media that he was “ready to start anew”. And now, he will be making his acting comeback in a TV series, tentatively titled Accept the Challenge, Producer!. The series revolves around singers in the noughties, and will feature 12 different stories. Taiwanese singer-songwriters Wakin Chau and Ricky Hsiao are also part of the cast.

According to Hongkong media, Andy will be flying to Taiwan to film the series next month. He will also be performing the series’s theme song. An industry insider later revealed that Andy was first approached to film the series last year.

“Andy was very nervous at the thought of making his comeback, [but] after seeing the script, he really liked the story, and feels that the role is full of positive energy, so he accepted the offer,” said the insider.

2 of 2 Sammi's reportedly working out with Andy in preparation for his big comeback too

Apparently, Sammi is fully supportive of Andy’s decision to return to work. However, it means the couple will be split as Andy will be filming in Taiwan the next few months while Sammi will reportedly remain in Hongkong for work, and to take care of her elderly mother.
