Why allow HDB podium build so close to the block and allow to hold religion wake? All podium should not be built within 100m from any HDB block as this affect peaceful home life of residence! Imagine if 10 million people and more noise allow in podium to hold religion wake. 10 million is beneficial for singapore as we lack babies n international talents. However we need to choose who we invite in as new citizens. In Europe all immigrants has to pass a national language test in order to a citizen. Singapore should demand the same from its immigrants
This I disagree, bet he doesn't visit shopping malls at all. YOU RAISE MINIMUM WAGES AND SALARIES FOR ALL OF YOUR CITIZENS WITHOUT CRITERIAS FIRST LAH CB! Increase Singapore’s population to 10 millions? No problem! Can be done and viable. Start working on it immediately. With the current population of about 5.5 million, our hospitals are not able to deal with the current 'pandemic' crisis. I can't imagine how the public health system and other public infrastructures are going cope in times of crisis when we hit 10 million.
Seeding the idea 😡 He is not the one living by then. Has any of his grandchild stayed in a flat, use public transport n eat in hawker centre often? Forgive him cus he lost his brain. He is actually planning for a 10mil population when he becomes the Prime Minister in the afterlife. The older you are, the wiser you'll be, but not for him, he is a fine example of STUPIDITY.
👍 The future should decide by the young! Not someone will die anytime soon and wont face the problem he wants how the future be! Have shame for making such suggestion and not consider the problem created by his suggestion!
10m population not really a ridiculous number for S'pore to plan for: Liu Thai KerRemember that time the opposition won 40% of the vote because people were upset at 6.9 million? They will pile up 9.9 mln ppl in high rise building while making sure nobody touches their GCB areas. Smart singapore governement.
stop with the numbers, quality of life is what we should strive for All malls, beaches, buses and trains are already so crowded. What will happen when we reach 10 million? After he is long gone, leaving crops for us to handle. By the time , we reach 10 million , you have already died , living underground sure not a ridiculous number
Ok Boomer. Such a small island, 10 million. Gila banget A 20th Century architect stucked in the past. EU regulators warn frequent Covid-19 booster shots could affect immune system Considering you gotta feed and water them all in a world already struggling to produce both commodities. AND meet their energy needs responsibly, it's the most ridiculously irresponsible thing to suggest for a country unable to cater for any of the fore mentioned necessities.

repeated his stance multiple times. The controversial proposal has sparked public outcry over the years, with the matter being debated both among social media users and from the ruling party and the opposition. In a issued on July 1, 2020, the government clarified that they have not planned nor targeted for Singapore to increase its population to 10 million. Singapore should plan for more population: George Yeo Former foreign minister George Yeo, who was on the same panel as well, then said he has"some sympathy" for Liu's view that Singapore should"plan for more rather than for fewer". He said: "If you plan for more, and we don't reach that number, then Singapore will be very spacious. Whereas if we plan for fewer and because of the nature of things -- not everything is within our control (and) the population grows more than we anticipated -- then it will be very crowded." He added that he has long been in favour of underground carparks in HDB estates as multi-storey carparks affect the quality of life by taking up space which could be set aside for other purposes, such as soccer pitches, which he said are"few" in number in Singapore. He explained that with modern day technology, underground carparks could be made much less uncomfortable. "What can be sunken should be sunken," he said, and reiterated his belief that the country should"plan for more (population)" as this would allow for"more options in the future. "We don't wish it, that's fine. We're giving future generations options, but we don't plan for it now, when the time comes and they have to retrofit, the costs would be prohibitive."
