Pertinent to note that on Saturday, a two-judge SC bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Munib Akhtar had issued notices to the ruling PTI, PML-N, PPP, JUI-F, Balochistan National Party and the Awami National Party through their respective secretary generals, though they will be represented by their legal counsel.
CJP Bandial smiled at the statement regarding article six made by Farooq H Naik. CJP said that all these points could be highlighted before the National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar. “The Court had given observations in the Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto cases in the past as well,” Justice Muneeb Akhter remarked.
