RAWALPINDI – National Accountability Bureau on Wednesday arrested Pakistan Peoples’ Party senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah in case pertaining to assets beyond income source.The inquiry against Khursheed Shah was initiated on August 7. The PPP leader is accused of illegally registering an empty plot in his name for a bungalow in Cooperative Society.
It is pertinent here to mention that on August 7, the anti-corruption watchdog had unearthed more than 105 accounts belonging to Shah. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah while condemning the arrest of the PPP leader said that it was nothing if there any investigation was being carried out against Khursheed Shah. “He was not running out of the country”, he added. He said that the government has taken a wrong step by arresting Shah.
