It has been recommended to increase the challan ticket of car parking violators from Rs2000 to Rs5,000.
Lahore City Traffic Officer Muntazar Mehdi said that traffic rules violations are increasing instead of decreasing and now the traffic police have recommended such hefty fines to control the sprawling bad parking culture, one of the main causes of the traffic jam. CTO Muntazar Mehdi believed that current traffic challan are measured amounts and to change the situation in the city, these fine tickets may be revised. He wrote this letter to IG Police and recommended the increase and revised challan ticket to get the formal approval.
