Court on Wednesday rejected the allegation levelled against him by Mr. Cheema that he had ordered his arrest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, on the other hand, has asked for a report from the Inspector General of Police , Punjab on the incident. Sources in the speaker’s chamber have told 24News that the MNA had been arrested by the police and that it was only after the speaker’s intervention that he was released.
Sources further said that MNA Cheema had a meeting with Speaker Qaiser in which he told him that police took him to a police station along with his car where he was kept in illegal confinement. “And although I was later on released, my car is still in police’s custody,” sources quoting the MNA as telling the speaker., on the other hand, has said that he had not ordered the arrest of MNA Cheema. “One morning, I saw a suspicious-looking car parked on a footpath in front of the parliament.
