By-polls: ECP bans transfers, uplift schemes in PP-241, PS-52

The ECP has already issued schedule for the by-elections to both the seats.

According to an ECP notification, transfers of officers and release of developmental funds have been banned till by-polls to both the seats – one each of the Sindh and Punjab assemblies. The ECP said that the step has been taken to ensure transparency in the by-elections and avert any manipulation attempt by candidates.The constituency fell vacant after disqualification of PML-N MPA Chaudhry Kashif Mehmood by the Islamabad High Court over possessing a fake degree on January 20, 2020. He had won the seat in general elections 2018.

The ECP has already completed arrangements for by-polls to both the constituencies to be held on April 15.
