Youth party-list to Bato: 'Find another job'

MANILA — Sen. Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa should "find another job" so he could sympathize with ordinary Filipinos, a youth party-list said Friday, after he told 11,000 ABS-CBN Corp. workers to just look for new jobs if the network fails to get a fresh license.

Aside from his comments on ABS-CBN, the group cited how the senator in May remarked, "Sarap ng buhay! Ganito na lang tayo palagi ah!" "His pronouncements only show how unfit he is for the job as a legislator. We suggest that Bato give himself a reality check and find another job. This way he can better understand the plight of ordinary citizens," the group said in a statement.

The House franchise committee is expected to vote on Friday on whether or not to grant ABS-CBN a fresh franchise after 12 marathon hearings that lasted about 100 hours.
