Data from the WHO showed that the country has logged 8,143 new cases since June 16, the highest among 22 countries in the region. | jovicyeeINQ

Among the WHO’s Western Pacific members, the spread of the virus is most notable in the Philippines and Singapore.Unlike the Philippines, the city state is addressing a second wave of infections, after being praised worldwide for its efforts early this year in controlling the spread of the virus.

“We all know what everyone should do, as well as our local government units who are our leaders in our response,” said Beverly Ho, head of the DOH health promotion and communication service.“We are grateful for our local officials who serve as examples to our citizens in wearing masks, practicing physical distancing. You are role models to your constituents,” she added.

There are now a total of 9,430 patients who have recovered from COVID-19 with the addition of 249 recovered patients. In the case of locally stranded individuals —as the government classifies travelers who are unable to return to their home provinces—Vergeire said some of them waited for around five days for their test results. There is the possibility that they may have interacted with an infected person during that time, she said.

jovicyeeINQ am not surprised : poor and late govt response from the top + cocky/clueless LGU executives + stubborn constituents = non-control of spread of the virus EVEN with a lockdown

jovicyeeINQ Kokontrahin yan Tom.. Sasabihin.. Mali ang WHO.. Dapat 'FRESH' Cases ang basehan. We disagree with WHO, hindi dapat sila manghimasok sa soberanya ng Pilipinas

jovicyeeINQ attyharryroque Ito yung effect ng pinagyayabang mo na gov't response -- fastedt rise in cases. Don't silence those who are critical of the gov't. DO A BETTER JOB and those critics will shut up!

jovicyeeINQ and those numbers might actually even be 'diluted'...

jovicyeeINQ More to come...

jovicyeeINQ Well.. the govt is bragging that they did a fine job. The WHO is a freaking delawan!!!

Jimparedes jovicyeeINQ What’s today’s great excuse? Improved testing?

jovicyeeINQ Another achievement ni tatay Digong! - DDS

jovicyeeINQ Wag magtaka! Late sa travel ban. Walang mass testing etc. etc... Higit sa lahat walanghiya ung gobyerno!

jovicyeeINQ Why am I not surprised?

jovicyeeINQ Di ba they said they needed the economy to open? I don’t think the numbers matter anymore. It’s “all good”, “we’re doing good” “late cases” “aggressive testing”. Ingat na Lang tayong lahat!

jovicyeeINQ

jovicyeeINQ Pano kc Puro military nsa task force plus An incompetent duque of doh.. Yan ang mapapala ng bansang Pilipinas. Military oriented not medical oriented. 😭😭😭😭😭
