MANILA — Music veteran Gary Valenciano was among the hundreds of ABS-CBN employees who gathered Friday for a prayer movement amid challenges to the network’s broadcast franchise renewal.

Introducing the song he would perform, “Ililigtas Ka Niya,” Valenciano said he wrote it based on challenges in his life, particularly his health.

“I didn’t know a theme song like this could apply to all of us standing here this evening,” Valenciano said.
