UP Integrated School standout Collin Dimaculangan will take the next step of his promising basketball career by committing to the UP Fighting Maroons’ college program.
Dimaculangan, who was UPIS’ team captain, averaged close to 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a contest in his latest UAAP high school campaign. He was also sixth in the league in three-point shooting with an average clip of 30%. Dimaculangan’s second option was to study dentistry – the profession of his supportive father – at University of the East and to try out for the Red Warriors.
He continued: “I’m just super happy [that] the school really has interest in me and is giving me an opportunity to play for the team. I’m really happy about that.” “I feel like every player in the team right now can really make an impact on my game because they’re really experienced,” Dimaculangan said about new teammates.“I’m really proud and super happy to be a UP student. Just watching the games in the UAAP these past years, just watching the crowd go crazy, I imagined myself. I really want to play for this crowd someday,” he said.
