Enzo Joson put the Bulldogs ahead, 70-68, with 6.5 seconds left in regulation, only for the Growling Tigers to equalize, thanks to Soulemane Chabi Yo's undergoal stab off a Mark Nonoy assist. UST overwhelmed the Bulldogs in overtime behind a pair of three-pointers from Rhenz Abando, and NU had no response once Dave Ildefonso fouled out with 2:52 left.
The Growling Tigers rebounded from a loss to defending champion Ateneo de Manila University in its previous game to improve to 3-1. The Bulldogs, meanwhile, dropped to 0-3 after another close loss.
