Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV is confident that his camp will be able to prove that he had no hand in the alleged kidnapping of a Davao-based businesswoman who claimed that she was forced to speak about President Duterte’s supposed illegal drug links.

“My lawyers would be presenting lots of evidence to debunk this fantastic allegation,” Trillanes said on Friday. Aside from Trillanes, also called by the DOJ were lawyer Jude Sabio, priest Albert Alejo and a certain “Sister Ling” of the Convent of the Cannussian Sisters.Barrido, in her complaint to the PNP-CIDG, claimed that Trillanes, Sabio and Sister Ling kept her in the Convent of Canossian Sisters and the Holy Spirit Convent from December 6 to 21 in 2016 and was coerced to sign a “ready-made affidavit” against President Duterte.
