Strong tropical storm expected to reach Bicol on Sunday

After typhoon “Quinta” , the tropical depression east of the country may also make landfall over the Bicol region as a typhoon by Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration .

It is anticipated to further strengthen into a tropical storm prior to its entry into the PAR on Thursday morning or afternoon. It will likely make landfall over the Bicol region as a typhoon by Sunday and traverse the southern island of Luzon on its way to the West Philippine Sea, he added. The tropical depression is still far and gathering strength thus the projection may still change, Rojas said, as he advised the public to continue monitoring developments regarding this weather disturbance.
