Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto revealed that some frontline personnel of the city government have been placed under quarantine after reportedly being exposed to a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient.

Philippines News, Philippines Headlines

In his official Facebook page, Sotto disclosed that the quarantined personnel were from the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CESU). He did not say how many were quarantined.

Sotto told Manila Bulletin the staff were already tested using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test kits to check whether they have contracted the disease or not. “We are expecting their swab results from The Medical City (TMC) tomorrow (Monday),” Sotto said. The mayor said the staff would still continue with their duties through a “work from quarantine” setup using their mobile phones and other electronic gadgets.

“Gumawa na rin po sila ng temporary work arrangements. Tuloy pa rin silang magta-trabaho (They have also made temporary work arrangements. They will continue to work),” he said. Sotto also apologized if the issuance of travel certificates were delayed or calls to the said offices were not immediately heeded.
