The past landfalls in the country were at San Policarpo, Eastern Samar ; Dalupiri Island, Northern Samar ; Capul Island, Northern Samar ; Ticao Island, Masbate ; and Burias Island, Masbate . Typhoon Ambo, which has an international name “Vongfong,” brings maximum sustained winds of 125 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 165 km/h. It is moving northwest at 15 km/h.
