Should middle class seethe over gov’t aid for poor during COVID19 crisis?

MANILA — A composite photo circulating on Facebook shows taxpayers settling with fried fish dunked in a bowl of clear soup, while the poor enjoy a more exquisite serving of crispy pork belly during the Luzon-wide quarantine.

Under the program, these families will receive between P5,000 and P8,000, with the amount computed based on regional wage. “You could have easily been on that side of the divide, so in terms of fairness and unifying the country, you give people a fair shot,” he said. “You give them an ability to break out of something that they did not create nor was their fault.”

It’s important to understand the different types of “middle class,” which made up 40 percent of the population as of 2015, in the Philippine context, he said.

Kung ipinanganak kang mahirap, that's not your fault, pero kung mamatay kang mahirap, that's your fault. Kaya kaibigan, huwag kang tamad.

Inclusion. That's what us middle class wants. Make us feel that we are sti a part of this country too. Hindi yung we drive the economy pero sa ganitong crisis is echepuwera kami just because we earn.

Ang laki ng pala ng nakukuha sa 4ps , kaya pala yun mga nanay kaya mag astrigent galing

pmjamilla Everybody needs it. The poor doesn't have savings. The employed have exhausted their while the businessmen have issued post dated checks to their suppliers but no income at this time. Everybody deserves government help.

Refund our TAXES and we won’t complain.

Wait. So, as middleclasses go. Should we get some sort of tax exemption?

We understand that we need to help them since wala sila ng savings, pero naman wag naman abusado na nagrereklamo pa sa 8k na binigay since pang 1 week lang yun, really? So nung walang ECQ nakakakuha ka 32k monthly?. Its okay to ask for help walang lang ABUSADO

I think the point is being skewed... They are NOT saying “don’t help the poor”. They are saying “HELP US TOO”.

Regardless of stature...theyre paying their taxes they should be entitled then it will be on their own discretion if they would want to waived their recievables or to give it to the one who really needs it. Just a thought ✌

Wrong question. Try again.

The middle class are the ones driving the economy. Help the poor but don't forget about the middle class too. All of us are suffering except those who are ultra rich like the Sy's, Villar's etc.

We'd rather see our money in the hands of the poor than in the rich's.

The middle class are resilient so long as they are earning.
