Senior citizens of Navotas City to be provided with maintenance meds at home
"Our City Health Office, through our barangay health workers, will do a house-to-house delivery of basic maintenance medicines,” Navotas City mayor Toby Tiangco said in a statement.“We want our elderly to stay home and not risk going out to get their maintenance. Experts say they are vulnerable to the coronavirus disease 2019 that is why it is important to keep them safe and healthy,” he added.
A one month's supply of such medicine as losartan, simvastatin, metformin and amlodipine will be provided to beneficiaries, the statement said.The city has around 5,000 senior citizens who are suffering from hypertension and diabetes, it added.Navotas City has 11 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 66 persons under investigation, and 120 persons under monitoring, as of Thursday.
Meanwhile, 784 adults and 281 minors have been apprehended in the city, as of 6 a.m. Thursday, for violating quarantine guidelines. Read more: ABS-CBN News »
