The Senate has ratified the bicameral conference committee report on the measure that seeks to ensure learners with disabilities will have access to education and other related services.

The bicam report on Senate Bill No. 1907, and House Bill No. 8080 titled “Instituting a Policy of Inclusion and Services for Learners with Disabilities in Support of Inclusive Education Act” was approved by the Senate on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

“Ito ang pinakamagandang regalo natin sa mga mag-aaral na may kapansanan at kanilang mga pamilya ,” Gatchalian said. The bill seeks the creation of a national network of Inclusive Learning Resource Centers of Learners with Disabilities , which would serve as a one-stop shop for the delivery of free support services to them.

The bill also mandates the Department of Education , in cooperation with local government units , to establish and maintain at least one ILRC in all cities and municipalities.
