BREAKING: Duterte signs service charge billICYMI: President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a bill that would allow workers in hotels, restaurants and other related establishments to receive 100 percent of the service charge collected from customers. | NCorralesINQ NCorralesINQ I thought this was the practice already. Does this mean we are off tipping? NCorralesINQ I think the word is 'require' establishments to pass on service charges to those who render the services. Some establishments do it anyway so in that sense they're allowed; the trick is to make it compulsory for all establishments that steal the service charge. NCorralesINQ Why it didnt happen 20 yrs ago when I was still working. On the ship I used to work when the management changed, we had to declare our tips and if the guests cancelled the grats we have to surrender it so it can added to the pooling system. Unfair.
