In a memorandum dated July 12, Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang said that the decision to close on July 13 came in light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Quezon City.
“This step is necessary to enable the Sandiganbayan to conduct an immediate and thorough disinfection of its entire building and to conduct tracing/monitoring of the health of the Court’s employees,” she said. But while the anti-graft court will be physically closed, work will still continue for all Justices, officials, and employees. Cabotaje-Tang said in her memorandum that they will adhere to alternative work arrangements for the meantime.
“The public may contact the Court through its hotline and email addresses as published in the Sandiganbayan website,” she said.
