A number of infrastructure projects, including a road widening undertaking and construction of school buildings, were recently completed in some towns in the province of Cagayan, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Friday.

A 4.23-kilometer portion of the Maharlika Highway has undergone widening. An additional lane was constructed on both sides of the road segment from Barangay Baculud in the town of Iguig to Barangay Babayuan in Amulung.

Moreover, 10 school buildings across Cagayan Province were also completed, providing different schools with more than 60 classrooms. Based on a report from DPWH-Cagayan First District Engineering Office, the school buildings were constructed under a P78.8-million fund under the Basic Education Facilities Fund of the Department of Education .

Each building is equipped with comfort rooms and accessibility ramps which are intended for the inclusivity of persons with disabilities .
