On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we revisit the story of Jennifer Laude, the horrific death of whom has drawn attention to the rampant transphobic violence in the country. More than 5 years later, justice for Laude remains elusive. Remember her name.

Aside from digs at Laude's sexuality, some have speculated that she might have been killed because she attempted to steal money from the suspect. About a month ago, Laude had said that she did not want to die old and end up buried under the ground.
