According to Pasig City chief of police Col. Moises Villaceran, Collo had been serving his maximum sentence of six to 10 years at the New Bilibid Prison since his conviction in January 20, 2015.

However, due to the amendments made in the Revised Penal Code, he was able to avail his premature release last June 5, 2018. But Villaceran noted that based on records, Collo only served five years and nine months of his sentence, hence he recommended that he should surrender to avail of his sentence recomputation under the controversial GCTA law.

“Meron kasi akong personal copy noong 1,914 convicts. Andoon yung pangalan niya kaya pinuntahan ko noong Sunday yung kapitan ng barangay nila para ipa-surrender siya,” Villaceran told the Manila Bulletin, citing that Collo also surrendered in good faith upon his request. Collo was allegedly the suspect for raping his wife’s niece back in 2010 which also became the reason why he is now separated to his spouse.Related Posts
