Public reminded: Breastmilk best for babies in time of calamity, formula donations prohibited TaalVolcano

The Philippine Milk Code of 1986 regulates the marketing of infant milk formula and other milk products, as well as feeding bottles and teats.

According to the law, donations of formula milk in times of disasters and calamities is strictly prohibited, as "indiscriminate distribution of these products put infants at greater risk of illness and death," due to lack of potable water, and other factors that arise in times of crises.

Wow choosy

Siraulo ang nagpatupad nito.. Ilagay niyo mga sarili niyo sa Lugar ng mga nanay na di sagana ang gatas sa dibdib,.puro patupad Di nag iisip...

Geez the single mindedness of this endangers more than helping. This is a crisis & mothers anxiety that one less problem helps. I am a Darigold baby, cheapest milk in the ‘70s. So far I am ok. 2 kids also in formula both are intelligent and logical and healthy.

Prohibited ang formula? Sinong henyo na naman yan?

Please. It’s time of crisis. We can’t be strict advocates for breast milk dahil walang kuryente how and where will they store it?! Nothing wrong with formula, can feed more babies.

Ang laki naman ng suso nya, pati siguro tatay dumedede dyan

This should not be imposed 100% as in times of calamities, mothers are tired, stressed, sleepless and more likely than not, not eating well enough to produce enough breast milk. They should allow some formula to help feed babies according to their needs.
