DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to fly to Japan on Monday to attend the enthronement of the new Japanese emperor.Go said the president was invited by the Japanese government to witness the coronation of Prince Naruhito as the new emperor in the said country.Go said President will depart from Davao International Airport going to Japan on October 21.

Earlier, Malacañang said the President will skip the event because he is busy and may send a representative instead. Naruhito will be crowned on October 22, in the presence of dignitaries from over 190 countries. He succeeded Akihito on May 1.
