Batanes Bishop Danilo Ulep has asked the faithful to remain steadfast in their faith in the midst of “misfortune” facing the province.

The prelate said this as he lamented the surge of COVID-19 cases on the island, which is still reeling from the devastation wrought by typhoon “Kiko.”“As if the super typhoon Kiko which caused extensive damage in Batanes was not enough, here comes yet another trial in the form of a local community transmission of Covid-19,” Ulep said.
“As Your Shepherd, I share the pain of those who were directly affected by the typhoon especially those who lost their home and property,” he added.“Likewise, I also feel the anguish and fear of those who are presently infected with the virus.
