The word “layo” is a Tagalog word which means “far” while “genic” is derived from an English word “photogenic” which means “looks attractive on photographs or on a film.” The term “layogenic” is not included in any official dictionary but a crowdsourced online dictionary for slang words and phrases has a definition for the term.Filipinos tend to create or invent words that are related to “photogenic” such as “talikodgenic” which means that a person is only attractive when seen from the back.
