Nakatanggap na ng unang dose ng bakuna kontra COVID-19 ang pinakamatandang tao sa bayan ng Altavas sa Aklan nitong Sabado.

Nasaksihan ni Brigida Panadero, 105 taong gulang na residente ng Barangay Poblacion, ang dalawang pandemya na tumama sa mundo. Ito ang Spanish flu noong taong 1918 na umabot sa 500 milyong tao ang nahawahan at ngayon ang COVID-19. As of June 18, meron nang naitatalang 99 COVID-19 cases sa Altavas, kung saan 43 dito ay active cases. Sa buong lalawigan ng Aklan, umabot na sa 3,406 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga kaso, kung saan 888 dito ay active.
