Despite the slight increase of Covid-19 cases in the National Capital Region , the Philippine College of Physicians on Sunday, June 26, said there is no need to raise the alert level.
On Saturday, June 25, the Department of Health placed five areas in the NCR under “moderate risk” status due to continuing uptick in Covid-19 cases. The areas were Pasig, San Juan, Quezon City, Marikina, and Pateros.Dr. Maricar Limpin, the president of PCP, said that the alert level status might be raised to the more restrictive Alert Level 2 should healthcare utilization would increase.
Also, she noted that the PCP does not yet recommend raising the alert level as it will affect many Filipinos and the country’s economy.
