The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation board is set to meet this week to discuss what kind of help it can give to coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine recipients who will suffer adverse effects.

“PhilHealth is already studying the benefit package so that when we have adverse effects from the vaccine, we can immediately provide help,” PhilHealth President and CEO Dante Gierran said during the Laging Handa press briefing Monday, Feb. 15.When asked if they have enough funds, Gierran said, they have a reserve fund for this.“Philhealth will always be here ready for its mandate to the Filipino people,” added Gierran.

Health Secretary Fancisco Duque III, the PhilHealth Chairman of the Board, already said that the agency is capable of providing the indemnification of COVID-19 vaccine recipients in cases of adverse events.
