THE Department of Foreign Affairs has repatriated nine Filipino performance artists in Japan whose jobs were affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

“The contracts of the OPAs were pre-terminated due to the slowdown of the global economy brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic,” the DFA said. Following the pre-determined protocol for returning Filipinos under these circumstances, the repatriates were asked to observe home quarantine, the DFA said. The embassy said if Filipinos who live or work in these prefectures must be on alert for any announcements on radio, television, newspapers, official websites, or social media regarding the state of emergency.
