Amid the ongoing challenges, the Philippine Red Cross said that it will not stop its vaccination activities to ensure that everyone – especially those who are vulnerable – will have access to coronavirus disease vaccines.“There is no time for waiting, we need to vaccinate as many people as we can immediately,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Senator Richard Gordon in a statement issued July 1.
With the positive response of the government to the request of Gordon, the PRC said that it “will now be vaccinating more families” – targeting the close relatives of COVID-19 frontliners. PRC said that this is in line with the program to support the National COVID-19 Vaccination Deployment, targeting the population below the poverty line.
PRC said that five buses were previously used in the vaccination of more than one million children against polio and measles-rubella.
