Philippines logs lowest active infections since January

THE Department of Health reported Tuesday, November 23, 1,153 additional cases of coronavirus disease that brought the country’s total case count to 2,827,820.

The DOH also reported 2,182 new recoveries that also contributed to the drop in the number of active cases. These new recoveries brought the total number of patients who have survived Covid-19 to 2,761,617 as of 4 p.m. Tuesday.The positivity rate remained low at 2.3 percent, from the 25,562 samples tested last November 21.

More than half, or 55.2 percent of the active cases in the country have mild symptoms of the disease, 4.7 percent were asymptomatic, 20.51 percent were moderate, 13.8 percent were severe and 5.8 percent were critical.
