New Orleans Pelicans general manager David Griffin said Thursday that Zion Williamson will miss at least the first week of the regular season, and there's currently no timetable for the star forward to return following foot surgery.
The Pelicans only revealed Williamson's status in late September, with Griffin saying at the time that "his timeline should get him back on the court in time for regular season -- that would be our hope and our view." "There is no fixed timeline for his return to game action, but the doctors are encouraged by this last batch of images," Griffin told reporters Thursday. "Doctors will take additional imaging 2 to 2 1/2 weeks from now as guides and landmarks for taking the next steps."
