Patrombon, Alcantara nip compatriots for lone SEA Games tennis gold

Although the Philippines was already assured of a gold regardless of the results, the two Filipino tandems went toe-to-toe, with the Huey-Gonzales duo winning back-to-back games for a 4-3 lead in the 2nd set. A Gonzales mishit at match point marked the end of the clash that lasted for one and a half hours under the scorching heat of the sun as Filipino fans at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex broke into applause.
