“What are we giving to the farmers? Fifty billion. The entire rice industry is 400 billion annually, the coconut industry is another 400 billion annually, and you give a budget that is not even one-tenth for the DA when you have a trillion or more for infrastructure,” he added.“Mahalaga ang infrastructure pero mas mahala ang pagkain,” he said.Pangilinan said that with the new law, procurement of agricultural products will be exempt from the procurement law.
“Mababwasan yung hawak sa leeg ng mga middle man, and di pu-pwedeng barat, dapat cost plus para naman may kotnting kita ang ating mga farmers,” he said.
