OVP, Manila to open drive-thru vaccination for public transpo, delivery riders

Vice President Leni Robredo’s office is all set to roll out its drive-through vaccination project in Manila City, where coronavirus vaccines will be administered to tricycle, pedicab, and delivery riders.

The Office of the Vice President has partnered with the Manila City government led by Mayor Isko Moreno to pilot the roll-out of the “Vaccine Express,” which aims to bring COVID-19 vaccines to target sectors and communities. In a Facebook post on Sunday, June 20, Robredo said the Vaccine Express will be open for Manila drivers from Tuesday, June 22, to Wednesday, June 23.

“OVP has partnered with the City Government of Manila and Angat Buhay partners for Vaccine Express, bringing vaccination to target sectors and communities. For the first roll-out, tricycle, pedicab, and delivery riders from the City of Manila as part of the A4 category will be vaccinated on June 22 and 23,” said the Vice President.

Robredo is now calling for more volunteer doctors and nurses who can help administer the vaccine doses to the beneficiaries.Medical doctors:

Love the initiative. Delivery riders talaga ang vulnerable lalo nat naka-quarantine ang karamihan. I was once covid+ at sa mga riders ako umaasa sa dala nilang pagkain dahil yung LGU namin kinalimutan na kami.
