San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, together with other city government officials, gave the food packs to the parents and guardians of over 1,000 pupils under the supervision of the City Social Welfare Department .
Zamora said that the food packs are supposed to be the food that will be served to students during their face-to-face classes which was halted due to the pandemic. The local government unit said that each food pack contains eggs, sayote, square potato, mongo, cabbage, dried dilis, hot cake mix, pancit canton, misua, macaroni, canned tuna flakes, evaporated milk, nutripack, nutribun, rimo choco flavour, and rice.
It added that the food pack distribution is being done monthly to ensure that residents will continuously have food on their tables during the pandemic. Meanwhile, the LGU also launched on Monday a feeding program for 175 malnourished children under the care of the City Health Department.
