Brandon Vera failed in his bid to become a 2-division champion after he suffered his first defeat in ONE Championship on Sunday night in ONE: Century Part II at Ryogoku Kokugikan, Japan.

The Filipino-American fighter failed to sustain his attack against Aung La N Sang of Myanmar when the reigning ONE light heavyweight champion stopped him in the second round of their 5-round bout.

Vera, the ONE heavyweight champion, went down to the light heavyweight division to challenge N Sang, but the cut in weight apparently affected his timing and conditioning. But Vera was able to pop big shots of his own, and was even able to cut N Sang in the forehead using his elbow.N Sang then fired punch after punch until the referee had to step in and award the stoppage win to the reigning light heavyweight champion in the second round.

Team Lakay fighters Kevin Belingon, Honorio Banario and Danny Kingad all lost in their respective matches. Only Lito Adiwang was able to produce a victory for the Philippines by stopping his Japanese foe Senzo Ikeda.

Awts! Talo si Vera.

Yes and it’s devastating. Tho, his opponent is really that strong and while he is so slow in responding the attacked. Di niya kinaya and i watch his downfall. 😔
